Weather Unit 1: Sandstorm teams

This is the first of four weather team analogys written by LucaRiolu493, feel free to reply with any changes or speculation.

Until the brief 8 days in which Manaphy was OU, Sanstorm was registered the most common weather effect on Smogon's shoddy server and their web poll. This is probably because there are three types that do not take a direct battering each turn, but also because of the two Behemoths in OU with the ability Sand Stream, Hippowdon and Tyranitar. Their ability allows them to summon a permanent sandstorm, unless retaliated by another weather effect.

The key to a sandstorm team is not having 6 pokemon immune to it, it is having enough pokemon to benefit from it.

I recommencd 1 ground type, 1 rock type, and 1 steel type.

It is also recommended to have Stealth Rocks up as early on in the game as possible, to avoid getting swept by bulky Gyarados and Dragon Dance Salamence. It is also necessary to have a 'bulky water' as well as an electric type to take care of Gyarados, Salamence and mostly Crocune, which can easily take control of a battle early on against a weak sandstorm team. Lastly, use something Fast enough to outrun base 130 speeders and base 90 choice scarfers. There are many pokemon you could use, but I suggest chosing one out of the following Choice Scarfers in OU:

Gengar, Latias, Starmie (if not running Suicune or Vaporeon only), Rachi and Flygon (if not running another ground type already).

gay OU teams are gay

there are other pokes besides OUs that can get the same job done. use a camerupt or a gastrodon if u want really good coverage.

Quite good however starmie and scarf do not fit with one another. Too many pursuiters will take advantage of this and it would be like using a scarf rotom. Nevertheless good guide.

a sandstrom team is good its not gonna gonna really take effect on the opponets strategy but after a while when it faints 2-3 or you opponets pokemon they will get worried or mad and they wont know what to do on how to stop it i would say it would subtract 15-20% percent of their battle plan and when you know that its effecting their strategy thats a perfect chance to strike
